Rigging in animation involves creating a skeletal structure or framework within a 3D model to enable movement and deformation. Artists use bones, joints, and controls to manipulate the model's shape and motion, allowing for realistic character or object animation. This process facilitates movements like walking, facial expressions, and complex interactions in computer-generated imagery (CGI) and video games. Rigging is a crucial step in the animation pipeline, ensuring that characters and objects can be posed and animated with precision and flexibility.
